Cleaning and Care Instructions:
It is encouraged to wash the mask before use.
Then, wash the mask in continuity with usage of mask.
For example; if the mask is worn during strenuous activity like exercising - wash the mask before using again. If the mask is worn in general, short activities such as going to the store or going out - wash the mask every 3-4 uses. If the mask is worn for longer than 5 hours the CDC recommends to wash before using again.
This is to ensure the optimum filtration of molecules and aerosol particles do not pass through the fabric.
All masks can be washed in the washing machine on gentle cycle. It is encouraged to put them in a mesh laundry bag to avoid stretching or tangling with other clothes.
All masks can be washed in the sink with any soap and cool to lukewarm water. Be sure to have suds on inside and outside of mask. Wash mask for longer than 30 seconds. Rinse by squeezing the soap and water between the layers of the mask with water running.

Fabric:
All Masks have 3(three) layers of fabric. The lining is a cotton or cotton-muslin, the outside is either a tight cotton weave, cotton-linen weave, or wool (singular Pattern). The middle layer is a flannel filter, which acts as an electrostatic barrier to attract and hold microscopic aerosol particles which would otherwise be inhaled/exhaled.
This is another reason it is important to wash the mask with use. Like any filter, it can become full and insufficient at filtering without consistent washing.
